This Inner Cover is fully assembled and made from double-tempered masonite with a white pine rim. It plays an important role in hive health by allowing moisture to escape while promoting fresh air circulation inside the colony.
The inner cover also functions as an upper entrance and exit when properly used with a telescoping outer cover. Our inner cover features a notched rim on one end. For warm-season use, position the notch forward and push the outer cover slightly forward to create a small front gap. This allows bees and airflow to move through the notch year-round.
During winter, turn the notch side of the inner cover downward to provide upper entrance access and additional ventilation when it’s needed most.
